16.Comedian Talk Show Host Jon Stewart
I was told Jon was married, but I'm not 100% sure. I looked for information on his marital statues and couldn't find it on the web. So if he is not a Hooked Fish I hope somebody will let me know. Until than this is some info I found on him. He was born in New Jersey. Jon's real name is Jonathan Stewart Leibowitz. He went to the College of William and Mary in Virginia, where he played soccer, and he majored in philosophy. A major for which the most promising career path was, apparently, stand-up comedy. Jon was a successful stand-up comedian for many years, which naturally led him to TV roles. In Comedy Central's days of yore, he hosted Short Attention Span Theatre, a show which featured short clips of comedians among other things. His biggest exposure came with MTV's The Jon Stewart Show, an endeavor which earned critical praise but not many viewers. After The Jon Stewart Show was cancelled, Jon went back to comedy. He did Comics Come Home, a benefit for the Cam Neely House, and had his own HBO comedy special, Jon Stewart: Unleavened. After some bit parts in movies and a lead role in Playing By Heart opposite Gillian Anderson, he was approached by Comedy Central to fill Craig Kilborn's spot on The Daily Show, which he thankfully accepted.Jon has a book of essays, Naked Pictures of Famous People, which is one of the funniest books I've ever read. He is left-handed.
